Trustworthiness
The TrustedPlace home warranty is a new addition to the home warranty family. It has been introduced to the market in 2018 by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company, which has been serving customers in Connecticut since 1983. Initially, the TrustedPlace was designed to fill in the gap in regular home warranties that did not cover the repairs of home electronics. Even though some other companies, such as Hello Super home warranty, provide similar services for TVs and computers, this is not a regular practice among home warranty service providers.
Accessibility
Trusted Place home warranty customer service is easy to access by phone as listed on their website, via online chat, or in social media.
Trusted Place Home Warranty Reputation
TrustedPlace home warranty is a young company, so it is hard to say anything specific about its reputation. The parental company, HSB Group, has an A+ rating on BBB, but only one star out of five based on five customer reviews and no accreditation.
Trusted Place Home Warranty Coverage
When we look for similarities in coverage between Trusted Place home warranty and other companies, we can see that Trusted Place fees are within the industry average and it offers high coverage limits, up to $25,000 per contract term, similar to the other respected companies such as 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. However, unlike any other company, the deductibles at Trusted Place depend on the item that needs repair. For non-built-in appliances and electronics, there is a $125 fee, while for all the built-in appliances and home systems, there will be a $500 service call fee.
Similar to many other home warranty services, Trusted Place home warranty offers three types of coverage plans: Appliances and Electronics Plan, Home Systems Plan, and Combo Protection Bundle.
Appliances and Electronics Plan
For less than $400 a year, the Appliances and Electronics plan provides coverage for such major appliances as refrigerator, oven, microwave, washer, and dryer. The plan also covers TVs, computers, home electronics, cell phones, treadmill, elliptical machine, and other non-built-in appliances and electronics that plug in and turn on. The deductible for this plan is $125.
Home Systems Plan
The Trusted Place Home Systems protection plan will cost you $45 a month or $527 a year. It covers the central air conditioning unit, heating system with a furnace or boiler, water heater, electrical panel, swimming pool heater and pump, dishwasher, and other built-in home systems that plug in and turn on. For this plan, the deductible is $500, and Trusted Place will cover the rest.
Combo Protection Bundle
This plan combines coverage for home systems, appliances, and electronics included in both the Appliances and Electronics and the Home Systems plans. It will cost you $738 a year, or $63 a month. The deductible will depend on the claim, $125 for appliances and electronics, and $500 for built-in home systems. For covered home equipment less than 15 years old, the coverage cap is $25,000, while the older equipment will be covered only up to $1,500.
Additional Coverage
In addition to the items mentioned above, TrustedPlace home warranty offers coverage for access to damaged home equipment, expediting expenses, damage during the course of installation or repair, ordinance or law, resultant loss from a cyber event, food spoilage in the case of a refrigerator malfunction, and even temporary living expenses.
Please note that the coverage becomes effective after 30 days of purchasing the plan, and you can cancel the contract if you change your mind within this time period. The cancellation fee is not to exceed 10% of the contract purchase price. In case you don’t cancel your contract after one year, it will be extended automatically.
The Fine Print
What makes the TrustedPlace home warranty stand out among regular home warranty companies is that it allows you to select a repair contractor on your own. Other home warranty companies receive your claim and pass it on to their affiliated contractors. In case you don’t know any qualifying repair contractors and don’t have the time or desire to look for one, TrustedPlace customer service representatives will be happy to assist you in finding one within 24 to 48 hours. They are available around the clock as well.
Trusted Place Home Warranty Feedback
It was a challenge to find any Trusted Place home warranty reviews since the company is relatively new. Overall, the happy customers mentioned good and fast work as well as good communication, while an unhappy customer complained about communication problems. The company’s rating on Facebook is 3.7 out of 5, and 2 out of 5 on SiteJabber. We will keep an eye on Trusted Place home warranty reviews and will analyze them as soon as they become available.
The Final Words
The Trusted Place home warranty is a young company. Established in 2018, it gains its popularity among homeowners due to offering services rare or unique to the home warranty market. TrustedPlace took extra steps in coverage that includes not only home systems and appliances, but also home electronics, food spoilage, and temporary living expenses.
While there are not many Trusted Place home warranty reviews online, the overall feedback is mostly positive. It is highly recommended to read this Trusted Place review before signing a contract in order to avoid any problems in the future.
