Pride Home Warranty provides services for almost the entire territory of the USA, including Florida, Texas, California, Illinois, and New York. The only four states that are excluded form Pride Home Warranty coverage are: Alaska, Hawaii, Minnesota, and Washington, which makes it a plus of the newly-established business. This makes the company comparable to the leaders of the home warranty industry.
Pride Home Warranty offers coverage for main home systems and appliances for lower prices than the average for the industry, and the limits are also quite high, which makes the company very competitive. In addition, this home warranty provides an appealing promotional offer, which has one month of coverage for free.
Although the selection of Pride Home Warranty coverage plans is very limited, and currently they do not have any accreditation from the rating sites, we hope that in the future this company will gain many positive reviews from its customers.
Is Pride Home Warranty worthy of your trust? We cannot be objective without customer reviews, but will monitor the development of this home warranty company and update the information in this review.
Pride Home Warranty was established in 2008 in Newark, Delaware, and quickly gained a reputation with homeowners across the US, especially in Florida and Texas. If there are any problems that cannot be solved internally, the customers can always file a claim with the American Arbitration Association in Delaware.

In this part of the Pride Home Warranty review, we present you with our investigation of the company’s coverage plans. We studied all of the available information and compared the data with other companies to make your decision on which plan to choose easier and better. One of the most appealing things is the low deductibles. The company’s service fee costs only $45 compared with the industry average of $75.
Another remarkable feature of the Pride Home Warranty plans is that there is a Custom Plan available. It means that the customer can choose the coverage for up to ten items and the price of the plan will depend on the items picked.
Pride Home Warranty provides only two ready-made platinum combined coverage plans—Platinum and Platinum Plus—which covers both home systems and major kitchen and laundry equipment. This is quite a limited selection, but the number of items covered is average to the industry and comparable to the plans provided by some of the home warranty leaders, such as Choice Home Warranty and Total Home Protection.
The Platinum Plan or Silver Combo Plan suggests coverage for home systems, such as a/c and heating, plumbing, and electrical, as well as the most essential kitchen appliances. This plan does not protect the refrigerator or washer and dryer. It will cost you $299 a year, which is much less than the prices for similar plans that most warranty companies require.
The Platinum Plus Plan protects the most vital home systems like air conditioning, plumbing, heating, electrical, garage door, toilets, ductwork, and the most common home appliances, such as refrigerator, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, cooktop exhaust, ceiling fans, and water heater. This plan will cost you $449 a year. Overall, we can conclude that the costs presented by Pride Home Warranty are much lower than the industry average, which is definitely to the company’s advantage.
It is necessary to point out that the coverage limits provided by the Pride Home Warranty plans are quite high at $400 to $2,500, compared to the leader of the market, Select Home Warranty, providing limits of only $430 to $500. This makes Pride Home Warranty really appealing and beneficial.
Summary of plans and coverage:
|Items||Limit||Platinum Combo Plan||Gold Combo Plan||Silver Combo Plan||Optional Coverage|
|Service Call Fee||-||$45.00||$45.00||$45.00||-|
|Coverage||$400.00 - $3,000.00|
Before choosing a coverage plan for your house, it is necessary to know what exactly you want to have covered, and if a company’s abilities fit your needs. Here we give you a detailed description of the items covered by Pride Home Warranty.
Air Conditioning and Heating Systems
This company protects almost all parts and components for the a/c system functionality, including condenser fans and bowler motors, thermostats, capacitors, relays, contactors, start assist, switches, transformers, and boards. Pride Home Warranty provides service for the primary floor a/c unit of the covered house unless it exceeds a 5-ton capacity. You should know that geothermal systems, filters, mismatched systems, leaks of any kind—including refrigerant escape, as well as maintenance are not covered under warranty.
The heating system coverage provides protection of the residential primary system, similar to the a/c, including ignition modules, burner assembly, and thermocouple. Pride Home Warranty does not cover filters, solar and zone systems, humidifiers, flue and exhaust, thermal units, exchange mechanisms, and heat converters.
The coverage limit for the heating system is $3,000. If you choose freon coverage as an option, the limit is $10 per lb and/or a maximum of $200 if exceeding 20lb.
Pride Home Warranty offers protection for wiring, services panels, subpanels, switches, breakers, outlets, and ground fault interrupters. The company does not cover damages caused to the electrical system by flood, fire, water, surge, power failure, and rust. Also, fixtures, inadequate wiring capacity, attic fans, wire tracing, as well as the running of new wires are not covered under the Pride Home Warranty conditions.
The coverage of the electrical system provided by this company is limited up to $750, which is a very good offer.
Plumbing System and Stoppages
The Pride Home Warranty coverage maintains leaks in the plumbing line unless they are caused by freezing or roots, toilet bowls, flippers, toilet floats, fill tubes, overflow tubes, flush handles and chains, and trip levers. Mainline stoppages are covered only if there is an accessible ground level cleanout in the house. Also, the company protects built-in bathtub whirlpool motors. There is no coverage for stoppages caused by collapsed, damaged, or broken drain, vent, or sewer lines outside the confines of the main foundation of the house, or by roots or foreign objects. Slab leaks, sinks, tubs, and fixtures are not covered under this warranty. If the lines are broken or infiltrated by roots or are otherwise stopped by roots, even if the break, infiltration, or stoppage is within 75 feet from the access point, it is also not covered. There is no coverage for access to drain or sewer lines from the vent, the removal of the water closets, costs to locate, access or install of a ground level cleanout. Septic tanks and water softeners are also not covered. The plumbing system, as well as plumbing stoppage coverage, is limited to $750.
Pride Home Warranty also provides coverage for garage doors and ductwork. The garage door protection includes boards, gear, sprocket assembly, capacitors, and switches. It does not include anything outside the garage door opener. As for the ductwork, Pride Home Warranty covers components and parts from system attachment to plenum. There is no coverage for crushed or collapsed ductwork as well as anything improperly sized.
This home warranty provides coverage for the most common and essential kitchen and laundry equipment, including washer and dryer, refrigerator, microwave, oven, cooktop exhaust fan, disposal and dishwasher, and water heater, where all parts and components needed for the device functionality are covered. Limits for the main kitchen and laundry appliances is $750, which is high enough compared to the industry average.
Moreover, each of the Pride Home Warranty plans can be customized. Look around and decide what you need to be covered under the home warranty and choose from the attractive coverage list, including optional items, such as pool and spa, vacuum, well pump, stand-alone freezer, sump pump, septic, refrigerator ice maker, sprinkler, and water softener, as well as roof leaks for a single family house up to five square feet. The price for such a customized plan will depend on your choice. The coverage for all items of additional appliances and systems is limited to $400.
Overall, we see that Pride Home Warranty coverage plans are really appealing due to their reasonable premiums, low service call fee, and high limits, though the selection of plans is limited.
When choosing a home warranty company, it is vital to have its terms and conditions easily available and clearly understandable. On this point, Pride Home Warranty did their best to show its prospective customers all of the information they may need. In this part of our review, we conducted thorough research of the company’s terms and conditions and compared the data with the industry average.
This warranty becomes effective after thirty days which exceeds the industry standards. Unlike most home warranty companies, Pride Home Warranty offers its clients a maximum period of cancellation with a refund of thirty days. The cancellation fee is the same as Select Home Warranty at $75. Like most home warranties, this one also has an automatic policy renewal. However, you can cancel within thirty days, which is the industry minimum.
Unlike most similar companies, Pride Home Warranty offers free contractor transfer. The maximum time to submit a claim is at the industry minimum and takes only one day.
Pride Home Warranty provides emergency service, and their representatives are available 24/7. Moreover, there is reservice if repairs fail, which is a standard for the industry. The reservice period for parts of ninety days stands at the maximum point of the market, though the period for labor is only thirty days and is at the industry minimum.
According to these facts, we can say that Pride Home Warranty is comparable and highly competitive with the best home warranty companies.
Quotes from actual customer reviews:
They make easy thank you for giving me a new dryer
I filed a claim with Pride warranty after the 30 day wait period. They sent out a contractor who did not know how to repair my washer machine and then completely broke it and told Pride to replace it. Pride said no due to the fact my policy was too new. I was not seeking a new machine, just a repair. I got a second opinion and my contractor said it could be repaired. I told this to Pride and I was told to send a written estimate which I did. After being told they would reimburse me at the wholesale amount of 168.00 by ****** their customer service rep, they turned around and denied me again. Now I am stuck with an inoperable washer machine they could care less about even though their contractor broke it. They broke their contract, lied and continuously change their story to me about what they would not pay this claim. First, it was my policy was too new, then my machine was too old, then if I was to stay with their company they would refund my service call fee. Even what they put in writing via email, they still did not stand behind their word, even the Vice President did not care about the poor customer service. This is ONLY a 168.00 claim. Ridiculous
