One of the most important things that many potential customers want to know about a home warranty company is whether they can trust it. One of the most accurate signs of a company’s trustworthiness is its age, or how long it has been serving the clients, as untrustworthy companies do not survive long.

Landmark Home Warranty has been on the market since 2004, which is a significant amount of time, comparable to industry leaders such as Choice Home Warranty, which was established in 2005. Landmark Home Warranty serves the following states of Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah.

Once you have decided which home systems and appliances you want to be covered, it is time to select a plan that will satisfy all of your needs for a home warranty. Landmark Home Warranty plans consist of two options, the Home Systems Plan, and the Total Protection Plan. The prices for these plans are listed below. Landmark Home Warranty’s pricing listed in their brochure is comparable to that of industry leaders such as Choice Home Warranty or Select Home Warranty.

The Home Systems Plan includes home systems repairs and tune-ups, as well as pest control and subterranean termite treatment. This plan would be the best for you if had your kitchen and laundry appliances recently updated, and they are still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Please remember that the manufacturer’s warranty and home warranty cannot be combined.

The Total Protection Plan covers all home systems mentioned in the table below, plus pest control and termite treatment, and on top of that all major kitchen appliances, central vacuum, washer and dryer, and garage door opener. This plan would work the best for those homeowners who prefer to have peace of mind by covering as much as possible under their home warranty protection.

Both plans can have add-ons, such as coverage for a booster pump, saltwater equipment, wet bar refrigerator, grinder pump, water softener, well pump, roof and exterior piping repairs, and other items.

Before you start reading this section, take a look around the house. Think about which home systems and appliances you would like to cover under a home warranty and then read this section carefully. Does Landmark Home Warranty protection meet your expectations for coverage?

Many customers who omit this section in our review later post negative feedback on consumer reporting sites. They have horror stories about the home warranty company that refused to cover certain parts of home systems or appliances that were not included in the contract in the first place. This is why it is always good to go through the list of covered and uncovered items in order to know in advance what to expect from a home warranty company.

Air conditioner covered by a home warrantyLandmark Home Warranty offers coverage for multiple units of forced air, gas, or electrical heating systems as well as multiple units of air conditioning systems. Truly reputable companies do not have to hide anything deeply in complicated policy terms. On the contrary, they will explain all the rules of the game simply and clearly to their customers and put them where anybody can find them. While collecting data for this Landmark Home Warranty review, we found that the company website was conveniently organized and very user-friendly.

We not only carefully read all of the fine print and collected as much information as possible, but we also compared it to the industry standards in the table above. New customers should keep in mind that the contract will be renewed automatically unless canceled. This is a standard procedure for most home warranty companies. Automatic renewal can be stopped for a $75 cancellation fee.

Customer Reviews and Feedback

Quotes from actual customer reviews:

I have 3 current home warranty contracts with Landmark on my current home and 2 rentals. Anytime there is an issue, the customer service team ensures I am connected with the contractor in a reasonable time frame, and the repairs are completed as soon as possible. For more than 3 years, I have never had a claim denied. And I've had claims with a washing machine, garbage disposal, Ac unit, microwave (twice), and garage door. One claim came really close to the limit. Needless to say, it is worth it for me to have a home warranty so I don't have to worry able calling contractors, and variable costs of repair for different appliances

Yelp, Las Vegas, Nevada March 7, 2018

We have a washing machine that has been around for a few years. Somehow the sticker telling us what model number it is got removed. We have had appliance repair guys fix it in the past without a problem. So when it had an issue we thought nothing of it until the appliance repair company Landmark sent out, after charging us $60 bucks, told us that there was a problem but they couldn't fix it without a model number and advised us to just get a new washing machine. Landmark denied our claim even after sending in photos of the washing machine so they could try to figure out the model for us. Don't waste your time or money. This company is worse than an insurance company and this isn't the first time our "home warranty" hasn't been worth it. Go with someone else who is more reputable and cares about customer service. Posting responses on the reviews here saying "sorry not sorry" and justifying their horrible business practices only shows how little they care. UPDATE: After posting this review Landmark took a second look at my washing machine. The repair company told me that they decided they were able to figure out the model after looking at the photos again. (seriously?) However, they did end up sending us a brand new washing machine. WOO HOO!! I'm glad they finally stepped up. It shouldn't take someone going to social media to get a response but this time it worked out. Hopefully this means they are trying to clean up their image. Now if only they could pay me back for the AC unit that I spent $1700 to fix after they told me it DAMAGED ITSELF and therefore it wasn't covered...
