Many of these reviews mention how great Liberty’s customer service is, which I can confirm based on the conversations I’ve had with them. Trustworthiness is one of the most important factors when purchasing a home warranty company, so positive online reviews and customer service reps who actually care are extremely important. Liberty also offers 42 add-ons, which is more than any other competitor on the market. Because of their exceptional reviews, stellar customer service, and customizable plan options, I have more confidence in Liberty than any other provider.

    I only have a few problems with Liberty Home Guard, but none of them are deal breakers. First, Liberty’s Appliance Guard plan costs $49.99 a month, which is pretty expensive for a plan that only covers home appliances. If you want a cheaper plan, I’d recommend American Home Shield’s ShieldSilver plan at $27.49 a month. Second, Liberty only offers $2,000 for each covered item. This is a normal limit for appliances, but it’s pretty low for HVAC and other major home systems. However, the roof leak coverage will cover the source of the leak if it’s caused by normal wear and tear, like weathering or old age. These routine roof repairs can keep your home in great shape so it can withstand more intense storms, like tornados, with confidence.

    Liberty Home Guard is one of the more affordable home warranty providers in the industry, with plans ranging from $49.99 to $59.99 a month. Their prices don’t start as low as some other providers (like American Home Shield’s ShieldSilver plan at under $30 a month), but they cap at $60, which is very reasonable. Additionally, Liberty’s monthly rates are very consistent throughout the entire country, which is a good sign that they’re not taking advantage of you by overcharging in certain areas.

    I recommend reading Liberty Home Guard’s sample contract for information on cash reimbursements and replacement parts since this can increase your costs, bringing Liberty’s overall affordability score down to 8.9.

    Liberty has a few drawbacks when it comes to their customer experience, one of which is their long waiting period (30 to 60 days) for coverage to begin after you sign a contract. This waiting period makes it impossible to get any claims covered before it’s over, so if you have a malfunction in the first month or two, you may be out of luck. Liberty also reaches out to potential customers frequently by phone after the quote process, which can get annoying if you’re no longer interested in buying a home warranty policy. Liberty also has amazing customer reviews, so given their positive reputation, emergency services, and extremely fast response times, we gave Liberty a 10 out of 10.

    My favorite features that American Home Shield offers are its affordable rates and its high coverage limits. AHS offers basic coverage for only $27.49, which is the most affordable Kansas coverage on our list. Additionally, AHS offers high coverage limits ($5,000 HVAC and $4,000 appliance limits on its ShieldPlatinum plan) that are roughly $2,000 more than the industry standard. This means that you’ll get better payouts as long as your claims are covered. Although you have to pay $77.49 a month to get these appliance coverage caps, AHS offers $5,000 HVAC limits on all three plans, making them one of the best home warranties for HVAC.

    American Home Shield’s inconsistent customer reviews are their biggest downfall since they make it hard for me to feel confident about the company. AHS has the lowest customer reputation score on our list, so it makes me hesitant to consider them my top choice despite all their great features. Additionally, AHS’s prices are inconsistent from state to state, sometimes rising by as much as $40 in expensive areas. Overall, their inconsistency in both pricing and customer reviews doesn’t bode well for their reliability.

    American Home Shield ranks second best when it comes to their overall score, right under Liberty Home Guard, mainly because of their high coverage limits. American Home Shield offers $5,000 HVAC and $4,000 appliance coverage limits on their ShieldPlatinum plan, which is several thousand dollars more than the industry average of $2,000 to $3,000 per item. Even if you don’t want to spend $77.49 on the ShieldPlatinum plan to get these coverage limits, AHS offers $5,000 HVAC limits on all three plans, which makes the cheaper plans even more of a bargain. The ShieldGold plan covers most major home systems and appliances, all for only $36 a month with AHS’s limited-time promotion, so I highly recommend you shop this deal.

AHS may not be as reliable as Liberty Home Guard when it comes to customer reviews, but they offer higher coverage limits, so they’re worth considering if you want your warranty to pay out well for claims.

    American Home Shield offers three straightforward plans, with its ShieldSilver plan starting at only $27.49, making it the most affordable coverage on our list. However, the Shield Gold plan is only$36 a month (with the 40% online discount), so it’s my top choice for coverage from AHS. The ShieldGold plan covers most major home systems and appliances, so for $36 a month, it’s a total steal. 

    The ShieldPlatinum plan is especially pricey at $77.49 a month, so I recommend most homeowners check out the ShieldGold plan instead. However, if you really want the best coverage, the ShieldPlatinum plan won’t disappoint. It offers coverage for parts of 23 key home systems and appliances, and it even includes unlimited AC refrigerant. American Home Shield only offers six add-ons, which is the lowest amount on our list, but their affordable rates and high coverage caps make up for it in spades.

    American Home Shield only offers a few add-ons, but the electronics protection plan is a rare option that not many competitors offer. It protects an unlimited amount of smart devices, but it comes with a lot of exclusions (it doesn’t cover cell phones, preexisting conditions, theft, cosmetic damage, etc.), so I have mixed feelings about whether it’s worth it or not. It’s also pretty pricey at $14/month, so be sure to read a sample contract to carefully review the exclusions before buying.

    American Home Shield is the cheapest home warranty provider on our list, with basic plans starting as low as $27.49 in Kansas. However, AHS’s prices vary more than those of competitors from state to state, which makes them less affordable in some locations. The ShieldSilver plan can get as low as $7.49 a month and as high as $67.49 a month in certain areas, depending on AHS’s promotional deals.

    Even though American Home Shield doesn’t have the best customer reviews, I admit, I’m very impressed with their responses to complaints. AHS representatives commented on almost EVERY online complaint I saw during my research, which shows their dedication to customer satisfaction. One of their responses on Google said:

    “Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. Please know that we’d like to look into this further. Please add the dispatch number so that we can review your claim. We’ll follow up with you accordingly.”

    On Trustpilot, their response is similar:

    “I’m so sorry for the problems you’ve been experiencing. Please reach out to us at trustpilot@ahs.com so we can discuss this further.”

    These comments may not result in a happy customer in every scenario, but because of their work to resolve these issues, we gave AHS an 8.4.

    At 7.7, American Home Shield has the lowest company reputation score on our list, mainly because of their inconsistent reviews. AHS has the most widely varied reviews out of every company on this list, which is really saying something because every company has mixed reviews to some extent. These inconsistent reviews make it hard to get a read on how the company actually performs on a daily basis. Usually, there’s some kind of consensus, but in AHS’s case, the reviews are scattered. For instance, on Trustpilot, the majority of reviews are one-star. But, on Google, most of its reviews are five stars. 

    One Trustpilot reviewer said:

    “I’ve been paying for this warranty for two years and the first time I put in a claim (a very minor claim) they won’t honor it. The contractors they use are not licensed or competent, and they charged me $125 for the hassle and incompetence I had to deal with. Don’t use this company.”

    On the other hand, AHS commonly receives praise for its high payouts. One customer said:

    American Home Shield ranks in the middle of our list when it comes to its claims process score. They have an average response time of 48 hours, which is mediocre but not a dealbreaker. However, the biggest detriment to AHS’s score is complaints of denied claims. One Trustpilot customer stated:

    “AHS denied my claim, stating it was due to a manufacturer defect. A coil failure after 11 years was deemed to be a manufacturer defect, even though the expected life of the part was between 8 to 12 years.”’

    Still, there are plenty of reviews that mention claims being accepted. One Google reviewer said:

    “I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with American Home Shield. Just in the past few months I saved a few thousand when my water heater went out, followed by my front load washer. Both were quickly replaced with very high quality machines for only the price of my set co-pay.”

    It’s hard to get a read on AHS’s overall performance since their customer reviews are so scattered. Still, AHS has high coverage limits ($5,000 for HVAC and $4,000 for appliances), so we gave American Home Shield an 8.4 because when they do pay for claims, they pay well.

    Select Home Warranty has the highest affordability score out of every provider on our list, with plans ranging from $44 to $48 a month. They also have the most affordable comprehensive coverage plan out of all the companies on our list at just $47.75 a month. Select has consistently low prices throughout the entire country, making them a great value no matter where you’re located. To top it off, Select even has affordable service fees ranging from $75 to $100. In terms of your cost-to-coverage ratio, Select is the best option for homeowners who want to get the most out of their dollar in Kansas.

    I have two main issues with Select Home Warranty: their low coverage limits and their strict terms and conditions. First, Select has the lowest coverage limits of any company on our list, which is also reflected in their poor claims process score. Appliances, plumbing, and electrical are all capped at $500 per item, which is barely enough to cover even the cheapest appliance replacements. 

    Second, Select’s terms and conditions are very strict. They can request up to three prior years of maintenance records and photos before they approve repairs, which can make the claims process excruciating. Without these documents, the most you’ll get for any item is only $150.00. Worse still, they could reject your claim altogether. These strict terms could come back to bite you since they give Select more opportunities to legally avoid covering your claim.

    Select Home Warranty is the most affordable company on our list, making it a top choice for budget-conscious buyers in Kansas. At $47.75 a month, the Platinum Care plan is just $3 more than the other two options, so I highly recommend readers check out that plan in order to get the most bang for their buck. Still, Select has a few downsides. Their appliance coverage limits are especially low at $500 per item, which pales in comparison to most competitors’ $2,000 limits. Their HVAC limits are $3,000, which is a bit better, but some competitors offer $4,000 or more. Select’s monthly rates are low, but so are their coverage limits, so you get what you pay for in that regard.

    I want to add an extra warning that Select’s terms and conditions are stricter than most competitors, which could cause problems when it comes time to submit a claim. Select requires you to report your claim within three days of discovering a malfunction, which could be an issue if they claim it was ‘discoverable’ before you reported it. Likewise, Select can request up to three prior years of maintenance records to perform covered repairs. Not many homeowners get their home systems and appliances maintained yearly or keep all the records on hand, so this gives Select more opportunities to legally avoid covering your claims. Be aware that loopholes like this exist, and Select will likely use them to their advantage. Still, Select has everyday low prices and free included roof leak coverage, which are two big perks that make them the best overall value on our list.

    Select Home Warranty offers three coverage options that are all priced between $40 and $50, but each plan also includes free roof leak coverage, which is a big benefit since the prices are already low to begin with. The Gold Care plan covers home systems, the Bronze Care covers appliances, and the Platinum Care plan offers full comprehensive coverage. Since all three plans are similar in price, I recommend spending just $3 more to get the Platinum Care plan’s full coverage. The Gold and Bronze Care plans aren’t necessarily overpriced, but the Platinum Care plan is the clear winner in my book because of its superior value. Select only offers nine add-ons, which is fewer than most competitors, but its rates are a great value, so we gave it an 8.3.

    While roof leak coverage is common, it’s also extremely useful, so it’s great that it’s included in all plans. Kansas suffers frequent tornados, sometimes reaching upwards of 100 tornadoes a year. Even if you’re not in the heart of tornado alley, strong winds can cause a lot of wear and tear on your roof, so it’s important to keep your roof in top shape so it can better withstand storms.

    Select Home Warranty is tied with AFC Home Club for the best affordability score on our list, which is partially because all their plans cost between $44 and $48 a month. While some companies may boast their flashy deals, Select flaunts everyday low prices that make them an affordable choice without needing any special promotions. Still, Select does offer some time-sensitive deals on top of their regularly low prices, and I’ve personally received texts from Select offering me a promotion for $60 service fees with the purchase of its Platinum Care plan for $379.99 a year. Select also has some of the lowest service deductibles on our list ($75 to $100), which adds to its impressive affordability score.

    However, Select’s low coverage limits could make your repairs more costly in the long run, bringing their score down to 9.1. Be sure to read the entire Select Home Warranty sample contract for more details on coverage limits.

    Select Home Warranty ranks in the middle of our list when it comes to their customer experience scores. Overall, many customers on review sites spoke very highly of their sales reps. One Trustpilot customer said:

    “I had a very pleasant conversation with the agent. He wasn’t pushy. He didn’t try to keep upselling me to another level or extra items. He cut to the chase, and I was off the phone in a matter of minutes.”

    Still, some customers thought sales reps bent the truth to make the company seem better than it is. One customer said:

    “The salesperson seemed to offer reasonable explanations for some of my previous issues. The price was right, (he) offered free months, (he) promised their call center is not offshore, and said he will always help me directly should I have any issues: all of which were lies.” 

    It’s common for sales reps to conveniently leave out any details that could make the company look bad, but this is misleading, so we gave Select an 8.1.

    Select Home Warranty ranks in the middle of our list for their company reputation, but their reviews may not be as trustworthy as they seem. Select Home Warranty offers customers a free month of coverage if they leave a positive review after the sign-up process, which skews the overall star rating of online reviews. One customer confirmed this, saying:

    “They offer a free month for writing a review of the sign-up process … I can’t give the full (five) stars without trying them out first since I do see a lot of other complaints.”

    Another customer echoed this, saying:

    “The only reason they have positive reviews is that they offer new customers an additional month of coverage in exchange for a favorable REVIEW, a practice that should be deemed ILLEGAL.”

    Select has decent ratings on review sites, but many of these positive reviews only mention the sign-up process. Here are just a few examples:

    “My experience so far is limited to the plan explanation and sign-up process.“

    “My husband and I just finished enrolling with Select.”

    “I just purchased my home warranty today, so I haven’t placed any claims yet.“

    A lot of these reviews aren’t a very accurate representation of the company’s performance, just the friendliness of the sales reps. Still, the majority of their reviews are decent overall, so we gave them an 8.0 out of 10.

    Select Home Warranty ranks close to the bottom of our list for their claims process, mainly because they have extremely low coverage limits. Select has the lowest coverage limits on our list at only $500 per item, which is much lower than the industry average of $2,000. Select also has strict terms and conditions, like reserving the right to request up to three years of maintenance records before approving repairs, which can give them precedence to deny your claims if you can’t produce the records. Because both of these reasons make it hard to get your claims covered, we gave Select Home Warranty a 7.6 out of 10.

    AFC Home Club lets members choose their own technicians, which is a rare feature. Sub-par technicians are some of the most common complaints in the industry, and if you have a local technician you trust, that eliminates a lot of problems. Additionally, AFC has a lifetime workmanship guarantee. This means that if a covered item breaks, AFC will cover the parts and labor for the entirety of a member’s plan if the same component breaks again. This gives you more security, knowing that once AFC covers your repair, you won’t have to pay a single dime for that malfunction again. Most other companies only offer a 30-day or 60-day guarantee, so AFC’s lifetime guarantee is far superior. These features may not be flashy, but they’re some of the most important things to look for in a home warranty company.

    AFC Home Club doesn’t offer emergency services, which is a big letdown. Every other company on our list offers emergency services, so this could be a dealbreaker if that’s a feature you want in a home warranty policy. Most of the time, when things break, it’s an emergency, so you’ll likely have to pay out of pocket if disaster strikes rather than wait for your home warranty to take action. Additionally, I don’t like that the Diamond Plan’s pricing is so high. It covers the same items as the Platinum Plan, with the addition of electronics and exterior water and sewer lines, but it costs $35 more a month. In my opinion, this coverage simply isn’t worth the steep price hike. 

    AFC Home Club is one of my favorite home warranty providers because they let members choose their own service technicians. This may seem like an unimportant detail, but choosing your own technician goes a long way toward getting trustworthy repairs. If you have a favorite local contractor, this service is invaluable. Additionally, AFC offers a lifetime workmanship guarantee, which gives you more peace of mind knowing that your repairs are guaranteed to last for the entire length of your contract without having to pay any more service fees. Most competitors only offer 30 or 60-day guarantees.

    One major downside, however, is that AFC doesn’t provide emergency services. Every other provider on our list offers them, so this is a big letdown. AFC has an average response time of 24 to 48 hours, which isn’t terrible, but it’s a long time to wait in an emergency. You’ll most likely have to pay out of pocket for repairs if you can’t wait for AFC to take action, so be sure to factor that into your expenses. If emergency services aren’t a priority for you, I recommend the Platinum Plan because it’s a good price for comprehensive coverage ($6 less than Liberty’s Total Home Guard plan). The Diamond Plan is very overpriced, so unless you have plenty of cash to spare, I recommend most homeowners consider the Platinum Plan.

    AFC Home Club offers four plans instead of the typical three, ranging from $34.33 all the way to $87.75. The Silver Plan covers kitchen and laundry appliances, the Gold Plan covers 15 appliances and systems, the Platinum Plan covers 18 systems and appliances, and the Diamond plan covers all the above plus electronics (including smartphones) and exterior water and sewer lines. The Platinum Plan ($53.17) is an exceptionally good bargain, offering comprehensive coverage for less than Liberty Home Guard’s Total Home Guard plan ($59.99). However, the Diamond Plan is extremely pricey at almost $90 a month, so it’s not practical for most homeowners. Additionally, it doesn’t cover much more than the Platinum Plan, so the extra $35 isn’t worth it, in my opinion.

Overall, AFC has very reasonable rates, generally staying within $5 of what Select and Liberty charge. But, AFC’s monthly premiums change based on location, so Select may be the more affordable option depending on what city you live in. Additionally, the Diamond plan is extremely pricey at $87.75 a month, so that brought AFC’s score down to 9.1.

    Non-emergency services outside of normal business hours may cost you additional fees, so be sure to read the entire AFC Home Club sample contract to learn all the details about your plan.

    AFC Home Club has the highest customer experience score on our list, largely because they allow customers to choose their own technicians. One customer stated:

    “I’ve been with AFC Home Club since 2019 and really appreciate their quick responses. The flexibility they provide to go through a technician of your choice or have them find you one is very helpful.”

    Choosing a technician you trust can help give you peace of mind during repairs, which is a huge perk not many competitors offer. Customers also praised AFC for how simple the process for choosing your own technician was. One customer said:

    “I was able to find my own local repair technician, and that helped the process considerably.  I submitted the paperwork to receive reimbursement and was approved the same day.”

    AFC has an average response time of 24 to 48 hours, which isn’t particularly impressive (Liberty’s average response time is 12 hours), so it brought their score down to 9.2.

    AFC Home Club has fewer reviews than the competition, and while that’s not inherently a bad sign, it does give consumers less information when looking for firsthand accounts of AFC’s performance. For example, AFC has around 1,600 Google reviews, but other companies have tens of thousands. Most people associate successful companies with having a lot of five-star reviews, so this doesn’t shine a very positive light on AFC.

    Customers typically praise AFC for the ability to choose their provider, with one customer saying, “The ability to choose my own technician is very important to me. I know by doing so, I get the caliber of person that I always have dealt with for the maintenance of my equipment.” 

    However, most complaints were about denied claims, which are very common in the industry. One customer on Google said:

    “Every service request we’ve done has either been denied or had minimal pay on it. Absolutely ridiculous!”

    Another customer said:

    “(My) claim was denied and closed within 24 hours. Save your money. If I had, I would now have the money I need for this repair.”

    AFC doesn’t have as many reviews as competitors, and the reviews they do have are average, so we gave them a score of 8.3.

    Cinch Home Services stands out for their $10,000 annual coverage caps and their unknown preexisting condition coverage. Unlike the other providers on our list, Cinch uses collective an annual coverage limit of $10,000 instead of limits for individual items, which can give you higher payouts if something expensive breaks. Additionally, Cinch is one of the few providers in the industry to cover unknown preexisting conditions, making your claims process less nerve-wracking. I also like Cinch’s 180-day workmanship guarantee and their B+ Better Business Bureau rating, both of which give Cinch more reliability.

    My biggest complaint about Cinch is their service fees. Most companies charge anywhere from $75 to $125 for service fees, but Cinch charges $100 to $150,up to double the price of most companies’ lower rates. If you choose a lower service fee, it raises your monthly premium, so Cinch is bound to be a little pricey one way or another. Likewise, Cinch doesn’t offer many promotional deals, which is a shame because any discounts would really come in handy given their high service fees. These aren’t major issues, but they’re important to consider before purchasing a policy.

    Cinch’s overall score isn’t particularly impressive, but they’re one of the most unique home warranty providers on our list. Cinch stands out for its $10,000 annual coverage limits and its coverage of preexisting conditions. Annual coverage limits are beneficial because you can get higher payouts if you run into any expensive repairs that would cost more than the individual item limit on another company’s plan. No other company on our list offers annual coverage limits, so this is a big plus. Likewise, Cinch’s unknown preexisting condition coverage (along with rust and corrosion coverage) makes for a more hassle-free claims process since there are fewer exclusions to worry about. 

    Cinch’s preventative maintenance benefits are another underrated perk. Cinch will provide one free air conditioning and/or heating system maintenance visit for up to $100 in the event that you have no claims of any type during your first year. In other words, you actually get rewarded for not having any claims. No other company on our list offers a benefit like that. Cinch’s pitfalls are their expensive service fees and inconsistent monthly premiums across states, but these aren’t dealbreakers. Cinch has a lot of unique features that other companies can’t match, so if you want these rare perks, Cinch is the only place you’ll get it. 

    Cinch Home Services has the lowest plans and coverage score on our list, mainly because of their expensive service fees. Cinch is the only provider on our list with service fees as high as $150, which is much pricier than some competitors’ $75 or $100 options. These high service fees can help lower your monthly rate, but conversely, choosing a cheaper service fee option can raise your monthly rate by more than $10 a month. My personal favorite plan from Cinch is the Complete Home plan since comprehensive coverage for $55 is a great deal, even if that rate comes with an expensive service fee. However, Cinch only offers six add-ons, which is the lowest amount on our list, so we gave them a 6.7 for their plans and coverage.

    Cinch Home Services has the lowest affordability score on our list (tied with American Home Shield), mainly due to its high service fees. Cinch’s service fees are the most expensive on our list, ranging from $100 to $150. While this isn’t a total dealbreaker if you only have a few claims a year, these fees add up quickly on top of your monthly premium. Additionally, lowering your service fee will raise your monthly rate, so there are tradeoffs. Cinch’s rates also vary greatly from state to state, rising significantly in certain areas of the northeast. Still, Cinch has very affordable monthly rates in Kansas, so we gave them an 8.7.

    Cinch Home Services has the lowest customer experience score on our list (tied with Liberty Home Guard), but this isn’t necessarily a red flag. While it’s true that Cinch has a lot of complaints about their customer service, there are a lot of reviews that mention specific agents by name, thanking them for their helpfulness.

    For example, one customer on Google left an initial review that said:

    “I’ve been with this company for years for my rental. The one time I actually need help with a big claim, they screw me with a big bill in the end. No longer will I use their services.”

    But then, they updated their review later to say:

    “I received a call from Wendy Dunn from customer relations. She was extremely helpful in getting more back from my replacement. I give her 5 stars for explaining limits and her kindness and compassion. This really helped a lot and I thank you.”

    One customer even went as far as to say:

    “I would like to start out by saying that this review is for the claims tier 3 service agent Evan Fields, and honestly only him!     Even though certain employees go above and beyond for their customers, Cinch’s general customer service could use improvement, so we gave them a 7.8.

    Cinch earned a B+ with the Better Business Bureau, giving them the highest BBB score on our list. But, their online customer reviews aren’t very impressive.  Still, many customers praised Cinch’s timely responses and payouts. One Google customer said:

    “My appointment was scheduled in a very timely manner. We had to wait for parts to be ordered. Once it was determined that the dryer was not repairable, I was given a replacement or buy-out option. I chose buy-out. The check arrived in about a week.”

    On the other hand, most of the complaints were about claim denials, bad customer service, and long wait times. One customer said:

    “Our oven broke 80 days ago, and we still do not have a resolution. There seems to be no accountability at Cinch to deliver to customers … “

    Kansas Home Warranty Regulations

    The state of Kansas doesn’t have a clear governmental body to regulate home warranties. Instead, the Kansas Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection handles any issues should they arise. Kansas Administrative Regulation § 92-19-62 contains laws regarding warranties and service contracts, but most of them focus solely on sales tax. While this lack of legislation may promote industry self-regulation, the Service Contract Industry Council (SCIC) also steps in to help states where there is no formal legislation to help regulate home service contracts.

    The Service Contract Industry Council “works with lawmakers across the country to develop fair and uniform regulation to protect consumers, and is an advocate for the regulation of the service contract industry.” The SCIC also provides a list of home service providers to choose from, but this isn’t an exhaustive list. If you’re concerned about your home warranty provider operating within legal regulations in Kansas, research the company to make sure they’re not involved with any lawsuits, search through customer reviews online, and contact the Kansas Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection to make sure your chosen provider is in good standing.     Kansas Home Warranty News

    According to KSNW local Wichita news, a home warranty company called HomeServe will have to pay $500,000 to the state of Kansas and $350,000 for restitution to Kansas consumers after a joint investigation between the Kansas Attorney General’s Office and Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office. The investigation claims that HomeServe offered electrical home repair plans that didn’t provide any actual benefit to policyholders, violating the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, which prohibits “misleading, deceptive, and unconscionable trade practices.” 

    HomeServe allegedly implemented electrical requirements that said a home’s electrical system had to have a certain amperage to receive services, which were fraudulent. Moving forward, they’ll have to remove these requirements and waive amperage requirements in their current plans. According to The Kansas Reflector, Kansas’ largest electric utility company, called Evergy, will also have to pay $500,000 for their sponsorship of “home electrical warranties that provided no benefit.”
