Coverage

Secure Home Warranty covers most home systems, such as heating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing, and majority of kitchen and laundry appliances.

Heating System

The company covers all major mechanical parts and components for the main heating source of the dwelling, including heat pump. The system can be either either hot water and steam heating system or centrally ducted forced air/gas/electric heating system or electric baseboard units. All accessible ductwork from covered heating unit to point of attachment to register/grill is also covered. For the full list of covered and noncovered items please refer to the table below.

Air Conditioning System

For the central air conditioning, Secure Home Warranty provides coverage for all mechanical parts and components for 1 central ducted system, including ductwork, air handler, blower fan motors, compressor, condenser, internal wiring, motors, and many other parts. Filters, humidifiers, refrigerant leaks and clogged lines are not covered. Complete listing for covered and noncovered items is provided below.

Plumbing System

Secure Home Warranty plans include coverage for breaks and leaks on exposed water, gas, and drain lines within the perimeter of the house. In case the claim for stoppage is submitted, an authorized repair technician will clear all drain and waste line stoppages which can be cleared with 100 feet of sewer cable. However, if the recurrence of stoppage occurs within 15 days of a previous stoppage, the claim will not be honored.

Electrical System

Electrical system coverage includes standard mechanical parts and components located within the perimeter of the house, including ceiling fans 2 garage door openers, interior standard light switches, outlets, breakers and fuses, and general line voltage wiring. Batteries, alarms, doorbells and lightning fixtures are not included in the regular plans. Some of these items may be added to the plan on as needed basis.

Home Appliances

Secure Home Warranty provides coverage for most kitchen appliances, such as range/oven/cooktop, dishwasher, built-in microwave oven, exhaust hood, garbage disposal, refrigerator, and more. Please note that only parts and components that are crucial to the functionality of the product are covered. Racks, shelves, glass parts, clocks, lining, and such are not covered by the regular contract. Optional coverage for additional appliances, such as wine refrigerator, central vacuum, and ice maker can be added for an extra charge.

Plans and Costs

There are three Secure Home Warranty plans that offer different types of coverage: Elite Plan, Core Plan, and Appliance Plan. Elite plan includes plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electrical system plus all major home appliances, such as clothes washer and dryer, garbage disposal, refrigerator, stove / oven, built-in microwave oven, dishwasher, and more. It works best for those homeowners who prefer save money on warranty and at the same time cover as much of their house as possible.

Core Plan will work best for those homeowners who have their appliances recently updated and they are still under manufacturer’s warranty. This plan includes all home systems mentioned in Elite Plan, plus water heater and ductwork. Appliances Plan, on the other hand, does not cover any home systems, but does cover major kitchen and laundry appliances. A long list of optional add-ons available a la carte is presented in the table below. These items can be added to any of the plans.
