Coverage

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty coverage includes all major home systems, such as heating, A/C, electrical, plumbing, and most kitchen appliances. Additional items, such as washer and dryer, pool and spa, and roof leak repairs can be added as an optional coverage.

Heating System

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty covers multiple units of the most types of heating systems, such as gas, electric, oil, gravity, geothermal or steam. Ductwork, thermostats, and interior gas lines are also included. Please note that fireplaces and other coal or wood burning equipment is not covered. For the full list of covered and noncovered items please refer to the table below. For steam, hot water or geothermal system, the coverage is limited to $1,500 per contract.

Plumbing System

Plumbing system coverage includes any leaks and breaks to water piping, waste lines and vent lines, clearing of stoppages, permanent sump pumps, water heaters, pressure regulator and valves. For homebuyers, a Supreme Protection is available that will also cover faucets, toilets, shower heads and arms and hose bibs. Service for concealed/concrete-encased water drain, vent piping, ductwork, leaks and breaks in the plumbing system is limited to $500 per contract.

Electrical System

Electrical wiring, fuse panels, switches, burglar alarm, doorbell, central vacuum, telephone wiring, and most types of fans are covered by 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. Buyers-only Supreme Protection is available for extra coverage of lighting fixtures and corrections to code violations up to $250 per contract. Concealed wiring coverage is limited to $500 per incident.

Kitchen Appliances

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty covers only components that affect operation of those appliances that are located in the primary kitchen. These include oven, range, cooktop, built-in microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, trash compactor, and instant hot water dispenser. More parts and components can be covered by Supreme Protection available for buyers only. The coverage limit for built-in or sealed refrigeration units is $2,500 per contract. There is a basic 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty plan that is called Enhanced Coverage and an additional optional coverage plan called Supreme Protection. Enhanced Coverage includes essential components of appliances in primary kitchen only, plus electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning systems and a heat pump.

Supreme Protection plan is mostly for homebuyers and allows them to add more parts and components of home systems and appliances included in Enhanced Coverage and add coverage for other parts of the house not included in the basic plan.

 

Enhanced Coverage starts at $35.13 per month. It will work best for the new homeowners who want to try home warranty and for house sellers that would like to add extra value to their houses.
